Here’s why it is so hazardous. Your body slides or submarines under the lap belt. As your head flies forward, the belt acts as a garrot across your neck. Victims typically suffer a broken neck causing or quadriplegic paralysis. In another scenario, when the victim slides under the seat belt they are thrown around inside the vehicle or ejected.
