A Louisiana driver was killed in an auto crash with the exploding Takata airbag inflator, Honda confirmed. The driver’s side airbag inflator ruptured in the 2005 Honda Civic that had Takata airbags. The name of the victim that was killed in the accident was Kylan Langlinais.
Takata exploding airbag issue is not new to US public. Takata Corporation announced that an estimated 33.8 million cars will be recalled due to defective airbags manufactured by a Takata subsidiary which is the largest recall of a consumer product in U.S. history.
In humid states, Honda is adding hundreds of thousands of vehicles to a previously announced recalls for passenger air bags that has the potential to explode. This could send shards of metal in to passenger compartment and seriously injure or kill occupants in the vehicle. Honda Accord, Civic and CR-V
