The Japanese automaker Subaru is recalling 200,000 vehicles in US in order to fix a defect that could lead to corrosion of the brake lines.
The salt water that is left off when the snow hits the roads could cause corrosion of the the brake lines. The State uses salt to keep the roads clear of snow and ice. Fuji Heavy Industries said, “salt water could splash on the brake lines through a gap in the fuel tank protector, resulting in excessive corrosion of the brake lines”.
Brake fluid leakage could be one of the issues that could raise safety concerns for the drivers and occupants of the vehicles. 2005 to 2009 Subaru Legacy and Outback are the vehicles that are affected with this possible defect.
